Robert James Knutson (October 28th 1936 - September 10th 2021) was born and raised a Minnesotan. Although his life's work took him to different places in the country, he still maintained his love for the beautiful nature of Minnesota. Growing up on his family farm located near Princeton, MN (Santiago, MN) gave his family an anchor point throughout the years. Robert spent time in Florida, California, Japan and in the Minneapolis metro area before ultimately splitting time between Minnesota and Arizona. Robert was an aerospace engineer for Honeywell for 30 years, however when he wasn't using his talents at work, he was busy using those engineer skills at home always doing his own repairs. That's not all that kept him busy, Robert enjoyed life in many ways including hiking, camping, hunting and fishing, playing cribbage and of course his love for the sport of golf. Nothing surpassed his love for his family, sharing time between states to enjoy his grandchildren in both Minnesota and Arizona. His wit and humor passed on to every branch of his family tree and he was a respected man by all who knew him.
Robert cultivated a beautiful life with his beloved wife of 40 years, Anne Knutson as they shared travels across the country making the most of every opportunity they were granted together. Through their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the loss of Grandpa Bob is felt with much sorrow but also with wonderful stories, memories and influences to keep his spirit with them throughout their lives.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Abe and Evelyn Knutson and his brother Allen Knutson. Survived by his beloved wife Anne Knutson, sisters Lucille Kammer and Lois Knutson. Children, Brenda Peschl (John), Greg Knutson (Diane), Amy Springer (Jim) and DeAnne Gould. Grandchildren Dustin Ericson (Kara), Colin Ericson (Laura), Rilee Gould (Seth), Sterling Peschl (Sam), Lillian Peschl and Isaac Gould. Great-grandchildren Maximus Ericson, Terje Ericson, Isla Ericson, Noella Ericson and Claire Deglman.
At age 84, Robert James Knutson passed away holding the hand of his loving wife awaiting the Lord's kingdom gates to open for him.
