Kenneth Shanks
September 9, 1956 - September 10, 2021

Kenneth Shanks was born on September 9, 1956 to the late William (Goony) Shanks Jr. and late Thelma Viola Davidson. On September 10, 2021 he stepped quietly into eternal life. Known as Ken (Red), was educated in the Davie County School systems. In his early years, Ken was an avid outdoorsman and whether it was hunting season, fishing season or outside tinkering with his vehicle, you would be sure to find him hard at work. Ken would keep a clean car with the music blasting coming around the curve passing Friendship Baptist Church. He was a big jokester. He was caring person who touched so many with his loving smile. Ken is survived by his two sons, Devon Tremaine (Bang) Rose of Harmony, NC and Schulyer (Bootie) Clark of High Point, NC; two grand-daughters, Asia Rose of Atlanta, GA and Ivy Rose of Charlotte, NC; two great grand-daughters Gabrielle Rose Cheever and Nina Love Cheever both of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Rochella Shanks and Cathy Clement both of Cooleemee, NC; brother Charles Neely (Diane) of Cleveland, NC; aunts, Shirley Rousseau of Philadelphia, PA, Julia Kendall of Greensboro, NC, & Joyce Ann Rousseau of Woodleaf, NC; uncles, William Rousseau Jr. of Mocksville, NC, & Bobby Rousseau of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death Maternal Grandmother, Leazer Rousseau Smyre; Maternal Grandfather, William (Dock) Rousseau; Paternal Grandmother, Annie Mae Shanks; Sister, Joann Shanks Jones; Brothers, William Shanks (Scoot), Gary Shanks and Wayne Shanks.
