In loving memory of

Patricia Ann (Clinton) Filingeri
September 1, 1943 - September 1, 2021

Patricia Ann (Clinton) Filingeri, of Cumming, GA passed away after a three week battle with COVID-19 at midnight, on her 78th birthday. Her daughter Melissa and grandson Michael were with her when she bravely transitioned into her eternal life. Born on September 1, 1943, Patty was the daughter of the late Mark and Victoria Clinton of Brooklyn, New York.

She grew up in a multigenerational home and was blessed with a beautiful bond with her grandmother, Sophia Miskiewicz. She met her late husband, Deacon Joseph Filingeri, at the Brooklyn Newman Club where they spent many weekends dancing. They married in May of 1966 and two years later moved to Long Island, New York and then on to Connecticut where they settled for 39 years.

Patty was very involved in the town of Huntington and the St. Lawrence Parish community. She spent many summers on Cape Cod, traveled to Sicily and numerous states up and down both coasts. She helped Joey run their Carvel ice cream store located in Fairfield for close to 20 years while raising their three children. In May of 2013, Joe and Patty moved to Georgia to be closer to family. Patty resided in Cumming, Georgia for the past 8 years. Her passions included gardening, baking from scratch, drinking strong coffee, eating any slice of cake placed in front of her, making homemade pierogi, and visiting with her friends, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Patty is loved and cherished by her three children, Deborah Karney and her husband, Thomas of Whidbey Island, Washington, Dennis Filingeri and his wife Stephanie, of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Melissa Ioime of Cumming, Georgia. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, Morgan, Grace, Quinn, Michael, Garrett, Mason, Marcus, Miles and Rosabella and a brother Curtis Clinton who lives in Reston, Virginia with his wife, Shirley. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph and her parents Mark and Victoria.

A funeral mass will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville at 10 am on Saturday, October 9th. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall.
