Vanessa L. Kimbrell (nee Helfer)
April 16, 1983 - September 8, 2021

Vanessa L. Kimbrell (nee Helfer), 38, of Phoenix, AZ, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 8, 2021. She was best known to everyone as Nessa.

She was born in Tampa, Florida on April 16, 1983. She grew up in Mequon, WI, where she attended Homestead High School and graduated in 2001. She loved music and studied the clarinet; she played piano and loved to sing. She moved to Phoenix AZ in -2004, where she came and stayed with her Aunt Sandy and Uncle Brian Peters.

She is survived by her loving husband Jeremy Kimbrell, her daughter Deanna Helfer, her sons Noah Ragland & Gage Corley, her parents Stephen and Anne Helfer, her brothers John Helfer (Kris) and Peter Helfer (Jessie), her nephews, Benjamin, Thomas, Sebastian & Elliott Helfer. Nessa also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nessa was a full-time student at Grand Canyon University studying for her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She earned her Associate degree in Education in 2012. She was so looking forward to becoming an elementary school teacher. She managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA and was on the President's List as well as in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, despite battling cancer.

A celebration of Nessa's life will be on Thursday, September 16 with a viewing at 10:00 am, and service at 11:00 am, with a luncheon reception following the service, at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

"Hard to read that Vanessa is gone & a comfort that she is with God. I knew her well when she attended Homestead High School. She dated our son Bob. She was so full of life & fun. Homecoming, Prom, band events & the very special London trip?you did many more things after those days Vanessa?mother, wife, student & so much more. Prayers & thoughts for the family?.they knew her best & have the most pain right now, but also so many memories of her life with them to recall . Those lovely eyes?."
