Mary Elaine Spear Scott

Mary Elaine Spear Scott was born April 18, 1923, at Frankfort, SD, to Anna A. (Lambert) and Ralph A. Spear. She passed away September 2, 2021, in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated high school from Brentford, SD, in 1941 and attended Northern Normal in Aberdeen for 1 year. She taught country schools in Spink County and married Clyde Scott on September 26, 1943. They enjoyed square dancing (She made all of her lovely dresses), golfing, and playing bridge. She served as a 4-H leader and enjoyed attending her children's 4-H and sports activities. They especially enjoyed traveling the world via Braniff Airlines thanks to daughter Gail.
They both enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and all the activities offered. She is survived by children Kay (Gary) Sandquist, Mellette, SD, Gail (Bruce) Bodin, Scottsdale, AZ, Tom (Kathy) Scott, Sturgis, SD,
and Eileen (Jeff) Weaver, Memphis, TN, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lester Spear, and husband Clyde in 2009. She will be inurned beside Clyde in a private family service at a later date.
