Donald Lee Ladehoff
October 13, 1949 - September 4, 2021

Donald Lee Ladehoff was born October 13, 1949 to the late John and Lena (Segebart) Ladehoff at their family home in Denison, Iowa. He graduated from Denison High School with the Class of 1967.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. After he was honorably discharged on October 3, 1969, he returned home to Denison.

On March 13, 1970, Don was united in marriage to Gloria Boner in Denison. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Terri and Chris. On March 1, 1997, Don was united in marriage to Neva VanHouten in Lansing, Michigan. To this union, they were blessed with one daughter: Lena.

He worked as a security guard at Plant 6 in Lansing, Michigan and Farmland in Denison for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and visiting with family and friends. He never knew a stranger and always opened his home to many adoptive children over the years. He was very proud of his 30 years of sobriety, barely ever missing a meeting. He lived his life the way he wanted and the best way he knew how. Above it all, he had a strong faith in his Lord and loved his family more than anything.

Don passed away on September 4, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa attaining the age of seventy-one years, ten months and twenty-two days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Terri Michelle Ladehoff; siblings: Albert Ladehoff, Louis Ladehoff, Gladys Thompson, Marcella "Sally" Brewer, Bernice Eubanks and Deloris Kirby.

Left to cherish his memories, his son: Chris Ladehoff and his wife Sheri of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter: Lena Ladehoff and her husband Matthew Prather of Potterville, Michigan; grandchildren: Kayla, Adalyn, Wyatt and Wesson; sister: Donna and her husband Ron Preul of Denison; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Gathering is 5:00 p.m. at 2508 2nd Ave S, Denison, IA 51442 on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
