Connie Darlene (Wood) Shirley, age 53 of Cumming, GA, passed away September 3rd, 2021, at Northside Forsyth Hospital following complications from Covid. Connie was born September 25th, 1967 and was a graduate of Forsyth County High School. She was employed by the Forsyth County Tax Office. Connie was happily married September 9th, 2019, to her beloved husband, Dale Shirley. She is preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Wood; grandparents, Frank and Mearl Wood, and R.H. and Pauline McBrayer.

Connie is survived by her husband, Dale Shirley; mother, Shirley Wood; son, Justin (Danielle) Worley; grandsons, Gavin Worley, Aiden Liber. She was expecting a third grandchild in January. She is also survived by her sisters, Brenda (David) Sweatman, Vickie (Tim) O'Bryant; brothers-in-law, Gary Shirley (Debbie),Ronnie Vaughan, Tim (Roxanne) Vaughan, Donnie Vaughan; sisters-in-law, Gail (Jimmy) Majors and Melissa (Devin) Mullins; several nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dale Shirley.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia in charge of arrangements.

"Connie, it has taken over a week for me to really believe that you are gone from this earth. There are so many things that I want to say in your memory because you were such a great person. You have such a huge heart and wonderful sense of humor. Those are the things that reconnected our friendship a few years ago even though we had known each other since high school. But I think the things the really connected us was we both had a great love for our families, we are momma?s girls, we talked about the pain of losing our Dad?s (and how we were so proud to have their Chevy pickups) and how blessed we were to finally have married the men we had always prayed for even if was later in life. I always loved hearing Gavin updates. God had blessed each of our lives and we knew it. I?m thankful for all our talks and the laughs. I appreciate the fact that you helped me focus on the good that God gives us. I will miss you until I see you again. "
