Gates: Passed away on August 31, 2021. Rocco was predeceased by his parents, Cosmo & Elizabeth Cannella. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace M. Cannella; daughters Donna (James) DiVirgilio, Nancy (Richard) Alexander and Lisa (Steven) Woodward; grandchildren Richard (Alicia) Alexander, II, David (Emily) DiVirgilio, Theodore (Emily) Alexander, Deanna (Daniel) Buzas, Daniel (Ashley) Alexander and Matthew Woodward; great granddaughter Lillian Grace Alexander; sisters Antoinette Milonni and Elizabeth Buda; several nieces and nephews.

Rocco retired from A&P Foods and Eastman Kodak. He was a loving and devoted husband of 66 years, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rocco was a modest and gentle man who never said a bad word about anyone. He loved to tell jokes - the cornier the better. He was a man of tremendous faith, and he practiced his faith every day of his life. He was also very lucky, whether it be at cards, or scratch-offs, or on the slots. Rocco was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Redmen as well as the Men's Clubs of St. John the Evangelist and Sacred Heart. His favorite expression was, "Have a good day and a better tomorrow." His family will always treasure and be guided by his optimism, his focus on the important things in life, and his unconditional love.

Rocco's visitation will be held at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 & Long Pond Rd) between 4-7 on Friday, September 3. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theodore's Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 4. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Capuchin Franciscan Friars, 319 36th St., Union City, NJ 07087 in Rocco's memory.
