Julie was born on October 7, 1962 in Shenandoah, IA, the daughter of Otto Junior and Loretta Mae (Fisher) Bird. When Julie was 16, she started her career as a residential treatment worker for the Glenwood Resource Center. Julie poured her heart into her career with them for 35 years until her retirement in 2014.

Julie was united in marriage to Delaine Smith on July 6, 1985. The made their home in Malvern at their "Bella Vita". Together they raised four children and were happily married for over 30 years until Delaine's passing on June 25, 2017.

Julie was preceded in death by her father Junior Bird; husband Delaine; and brother Ricky Bird.

Julie is survived by her children, Jessica Wiese, Shane Peck (Kyra), Brandon, and Christopher; nine beloved grandchildren; mother Loretta Fisher and sister Sharon Steck, both of Spring Hill, FL; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Julie enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends, whether it was vacation in Vegas with hubby, Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren, taking you for all your money at LCR or the sleepovers and Beer 30 with the "Barretts". She definitely lived her life to the fullest and leaves behind her a legacy of incredible memories.

She didn't get a chance to say "thank you" nor "goodbye" to all the people who have helped, befriended, and loved her along the way. Julie really did appreciate those who made a point to be here. Her family and her friend were what truly meant the most to her in the end. She cherished the memories and her loved ones that made her life all the worthwhile.
