"Charlene was such a sweet lady. I always enjoyed visiting with her when I saw her and Carroll at PM. She always remembered me. Hugs to Carroll and Chrissy. "
Charlene Alice (Crabtree) Michael, 80, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2021 of dementia.
Charlene was married to Carrol (Slick) Michael for 62 years. They had two children, Randall and Christine. Charlene loved being a wife, mother and a farmer. Neither she or Carrol were raised on a farm but you would never know that. Both of them loved raising a large vegetable garden and raising livestock. Over the years, she became an expert at raising bottle calves, having up to 20 at a time. The local vet once said, "if you have a question on bottle calves, go ask Charlene." While maintaining their home, tending to livestock, and she also did all the bookkeeping for their farming operation. But no joy was greater than when the family was blessed with two grandsons. Even as the disease took her mind, it never took her love for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Carrol; daughter Christine (Steven Schonhorst); 2 grandsons, Kurt (Canaa) Jones; Brent Jones; 2 great-grandchildren; Gage and Riley Jones.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Randy Michael; parents, Charles and Alice Crabtree.
No services are being planned at this time. Memorials can be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Children's SS or VBS programs.
