"Zab was a great friend! Since 1988 as freshmen at Messiah College to 2020 at the ASU vs. USC basketball game. See you in heaven!"
Jonathan Richard Zaborowski was born in Union City, PA on February 23, 1970, and left this world of the dying on August 11, 2021, to enter the Kingdom of Life - eternal life with God through his proclaimed and lived-out faith in Jesus Christ.
Jon ("Coach Z") taught Elementary Physical Education and coached all levels of baseball at the Scottsdale Christian Academy in Scottsdale, AZ, where he loved every one of his students and desired to see them know Jesus Christ and follow after Him with genuineness and devotion. He previously coached in the men's baseball program at Arizona Christian University and was a personal hitting instructor. Before moving to Arizona in 2005, Jon taught and coached baseball at Lakeland Christian School in Lakeland, FL. He is still a valued personality at Judson Baptist Camp in Pennsylvania, where he served many summers as a camp counselor and as Program Director.
"Coach Z" grew up in Wattsburg, PA where he graduated from Seneca High School in 1988. In 1994 he graduated from Messiah University in Grantham, PA with a degree in Physical Education, and was the MVP of the men's baseball team his senior season. He has always been active in serving the Lord in church and was a current and active member of Harvest Bible Church Phoenix. In addition to all things baseball, he enjoyed visiting his family, going on mission trips, music, fishing, hiking, basketball, baking cookies for faculty meetings, studying the Bible, and friendships of depth.
Jon was loved by all his family, school faculty, friends, students and ballplayers. They knew he loved them and wanted them to excel as followers of Jesus, in athletics, and in life. Everyone enjoyed his sense of humor and the fun he added to every environment.
Above all, Jon was devoted to Jesus Christ, and wanted to please the Lord with his conduct and character. He valued the truth and was not deterred from speaking the truth. He impacted and influenced hundreds of young people to love and pursue Jesus through his coaching, teaching, camp counseling, and life.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Kenny Zaborowski. He is survived by his mother, Vivian (Mikolon) Zaborowski, and siblings Jim (and Kathy) Zaborowski, Joel (and Stacey) Zaborowski, Jason (and Bethany) Zaborowski, Joy (and Adam) Bennett, and Jeremy (and Randi) Zaborowski. He was adored by his nieces and nephews Makenzy (and Jared) Kromer, Drew (and Taylor) Zaborowski, Samantha Zaborowski, Josh Zaborowski, Jennifer Zaborowski, Damiana Zaborowski, Grace Bennett, Laura Zaborowski, Lucy Bennet, Zoe Zaborowski, Phoebe Zaborowski, and Truman Zaborowski.
A memorial service will be held at the Scottsdale Christian Academy baseball field at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 19. Another memorial service will occur at the Greenfield Baptist Church in North East, PA at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, followed by interment at the church cemetery.

"Jon has been a dear friend since our LCS days. He taught my sons much more than baseball?he taught them to do everything to the glory of God. Jon was such a fun person. I?ll never forget how he invented games for his elementary students. My favorite was ?toilet tag.? The world has lost but Heaven has gained a gentle giant of a man. Until we meet again, Jon. ??"
