Jed Daniel, son of Robert and Megan (Muhlbauer) Riesselman, was born April 9, 2017, at St. Anthony's Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. Jed was a very happy little boy, who loved everyone ferociously and was rarely mad at anyone. He loved to joke and say "I have a secret for you," which was almost always followed by something totally inappropriate whispered into our ears. We loved to tease Jed when he focused on something because he would always stick his tongue out the side of his mouth. A catch phrase Jed often used was "I have something in my pocket for you," where he would then proceed to dig out his fist with a quick punch. A trick he learned from his Papa and continued to do after his passing.
Jed attended three-year old preschool at Zion, where he called Pastor Conner "God." We often heard after school that he spoke with God today, which of course made everyone smile. He was looking forward to riding the bus with his siblings, when school started back up. He was beyond excited to get his Avengers backpack and all of his school supplies, which of course resulted in him sneaking in a couple of toys. Jed loved to play in his sandbox and his new beach he had been working hard with his dad to get done this summer. He also loved working on the farm with all the big guys, riding his horse Toby and Jake, riding motorcycles with Jack, doing gymnastics and slime with Liv, and eating m&m's and marshmallows. His grin and laugh made your day and he showed us daily how much he loved you with his hands held wide, saying "I love you THIS much, mom and dad!" Every morning when Jed woke up, he had his paw patrol blanket draped over his head as he walked down the steps to scare us with a quick 'roar' followed with an "Good morning, I love you."
Jed, you were so deeply loved and absolutely perfect. You were a beautiful soul, with the best laugh and grin. We were blessed and honored to have you be a part of our family for the past 4 years. We miss you terribly but are at peace knowing you are with Papa, riding your horse, Toby. We love you Jedie!

"We were very blessed to meet Jed this summer while Robert was custom cutting for my grandparents in Oklahoma. He kept us laughing the entire time we were around him. He brought a lot of joy to our family for the short time we were around him and his family. These memories we will cherish forever! It is hard to wrap our minds around the tragic event of his passing. I am sure he brought many smiles to his families faces- keep these close to your heart! He had a purpose on this earth and I believe it was just that- wonderful memories of laughs, fun pranks, and to put smiles faces of others. Please know we are praying for the whole family. You have two amazing ornery angels in heaven planning many "tricks" to play on you all. Thank you for sharing your family with ours. May God bring peace to your hearts. -Erin, Mike, Braxton, and Hunter"
