Virginia "Ginnie" Rhode, 89, of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Bellevue, NE. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Rev. Dan Siepker officiating. Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery in Columbus, NE. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 9:00 a.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Ginnie and her family.

Virginia "Ginnie" Rhode, 89, of Glenwood, IA, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Bellevue, NE.
Virginia Mae Leet, daughter of Wilda Vertura (Wickersham) and John Thomas Leet was born on May 12, 1932 in Glenwood, IA. She received her education from Glenwood graduating in 1949. Following graduation she attended beauty school. She then had a lifelong career as a beautician. She lived in Glenwood, Yanton, SD and Columbus, NE.
Ginnie enjoyed golfing in her younger years, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Ginnie is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 1 sister.
Ginnie is survived by her sister, Rose Kahl, of Glenwood, IA; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of many special friends.

WE ENJOYED THE VISITS WHEN SHE CAME TO NORTH PLATTE AND WHEN WE VISITED IN COLUMBUS. WE WENT OUT TO EAT AND HAD TO WAIT IN LINE , GINNIE SAID THERE IS A TABLE AND SHE HEADED TO IT AND SAT DOWN.. "I worked with Virginia years ago when we were both beauticians at Fern's Beauty Shop in Glenwood. I think this was Virginia's first job in the beauty business. She later opened her own shop.
