Ann Magennis
March 11, 1938 - August 11, 2021

Ann R. Magennis, 83, of Fort Dodge died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at her home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.
Ann is survived by her sister Mary (Richard) Beaulieu of Hinton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Amos and Ruth (Shreve) Johnson, husband Jim, and brother Dean.
Ann was born March 11, 1938 in Sac City. After her graduation from Sac City High School in 1956, she moved to Omaha and worked for AAA in the accountant department. To pursue a dream, she left Omaha in 1961 to work at a summer resort in Estes Park, Colorado. The following winter, she worked for Denver US National Bank. She then returned to Iowa in 1963 to give her mother support after the death of her father. Ann then worked with Iowa Employment Office. In the 1966, she returned to Denver where she met Jim Magennis and they were married five months later. They were united in marriage October 22, 1966 at Corpus Christi Church. The couple made Fort Dodge their home and were blessed with 35 years of marriage. In March of 2000, after 30 years as an administrative assistant Ann retired from Land O' Lakes.
