Roderick Dunyell Ashford
February 9, 1974 - August 2, 2021

Roderick passed away on August 2, 2021. He was born on February 9, 1974 to the late Ms. Eveyln Ashford who preceded him in death when he was 12 years old. Roderick was born in Memphis Tennessee and later moved to San Diego California with his mother. Roderick was raised by his father Enoch Long. Roderick graduated from Sweetwater High School in San Diego, CA. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services and Management from the University of Phoenix along with his wife Antonia. Roderick and Antonia were married on February 14, 2004.

Roderick as a young man loved to be by the water; he loved to fish. "as one of his children said," fishing is a family thing!" Roderick was adventurous and spent time with his family and he enjoyed seeing new places and going down by the beach. Roderick worked for the Federal Bureau of Prison for over 16 years providing Human Services to Federal inmates. Roderick stayed involved in his children and grandchildren lives; he showed great effort in spending time with family, friends and loved ones.

Roderick is survived by his father Enoch Long; brother Reggie Long; sister Jackie Long; wife Antonia R. Ashford; children LaJahn Ashford; Shanese Ashford; Roderick Ashford Jr. and Rahshahn Ashford; 4 grandchildren Kimora; Dre; Mya'Love and Justin Jr.; aunt Dollye Bramlett of San Diego and a host of cousins in California and Tennessee.
