" Its been a shocking week for all of us at SEED witnessing the unexpected transition of our own Tesfu, founder and board of SEED. Knowing that he is in a better place with God & his departurer on the first day of "Felseta Le Mariam" gives us comfort to endure this difficult time. May the good Lord send His Spirit to comfort the family."

Society of Ethiopians Established in the diaspora, wrote on Aug 12, 2021:

"IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER! It is with profound grief that we learn the inexorable laws of Fate that our good brother, Tesfaye Haile, is taken from us to meet his creator. The passing away of our brother, Tesfaye Haile was a great shock to those of us who knew him for decades as a friend and a family-man. We already miss his smiling face, admirable social skills, and unparalleled hospitality at his home. Tesfaye was a co-founder of the Society of Ethiopians Established in the diaspora, SEED, and its first adult honoree 1993. He served SEED as a lifetime board member and public relations officer for nearly 3 decades. He is remembered as a devoted board member who constantly, and always sought to do his duty honorably and fairly. Most especially, Tesfaye was a family-man and a wonderful father as witnessed by the successful, God fearing and highly accomplished children he and his wife, Selamawit, have raised. He loved his family members dearly, and they were his love and light. Tesfaye was much esteemed in the Ethiopian community. He has played a significant role in the establishment of Menkir-Haila Kidanemehret Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Rochester, New York. He had demonstrated his love for Ethiopia and Ethiopians in times of need. Recently, he was instrumental in organizing his community to provide help in the fight against COVID19 for the homeland. The SEED family joins together in extending to the members of his bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy. May God bless his soul and give his loved ones the strength to endure. Sincerely, SEED Board"
