In loving memory of

Kenneth A. Hartman
July 7, 1963 - August 3, 2021

Kenneth A. Hartman, 58, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, following a long fight with cancer. Ken was born in Toms River, NJ and moved around the east coast with his father's military career before settling primarily in Connecticut. His own military service with the USAF brought him to Omaha, NE in 1981 and he served 4 years before an honorable discharge in 1985. In 1987, his only child Ashleigh was born and he became the most loving and dedicated father. His work travels brought him around the world from Cork, Ireland to Paris, France but he always came back to Omaha. He married Pam Jepperson on April 28, 2015 and the two adored traveling, especially any vacation with fishing. His stubbornness, big laugh, and tall-tale stories will be forever missed.

Ken is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter Ashleigh (Corey) Miller; step-daughter Nicole (Gregory) Holmquist; step-son Tyler Gaines; step-son Zach (Ellie) Jepperson; step-son Tanner (Alycia) Jepperson; step-grandchildren Josiah, Selah, Austin, Lucas, Aiden, Lacey, Brycen, and Alexis; sisters Barbara Aubrey, of Altoona, PA, Sherryl Hartman, of Lincoln, DE, and Marlene Hartman, of Newark, DE; 2 nephews, Shaunn and Justin, his dog Jasmine "Jazz" Hartman. Preceded in death by parents Lowell and Viola (Santucci) Hartman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church, 4814 Oaks Lane, Omaha, NE.

A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Nebraska Humane Society and/or Open Door Mission.

"Ken was a great friend and support system at work. His tall stories were always something to be enjoyed. He was so good at it that some of the times I had no idea if he was serious. He was a great man and he will be greatly missed. "

"I worked with Ken for many years and would always go to him when I needed a laugh or a technical advice. You will be missed my dear friend."

Sherryl Hartman wrote on Aug 5, 2021:

"I remember when Ken was born in the Army Hospital in Fort Dix, NJ. We lived in Toms River, NJ at the time. Our mom let us pick out his name, but we had to make sure it had 7 letters in his first name and his middle name had to start with an \"A\". We 3 girls (his surviving sisters, Barbara Arlene [Altoona, PA], Sherryl Ann [Lincoln, DE] and Marlene Annamae [Newark]) enthusiastically went to the back of a 4\" thick dictionary and scrolled through the list of boys\' names. I think we picked Kenneth because we liked Barbie dolls and well, you get it...His middle name was a little tricky...we already had a German last name, and since our mother was Italian [Santucci] we wanted his name to sound more Italian. So, that\'s how he was named Kenneth Anthony....Ken took his sweet time learning how to talk...he was like 3 when he finally started talking and those who know him well...what a talker he became! Over the years, he has had some really challenging experiences in life but seemed to find the humor behind most of them! Such an awesome story teller! I\'m going to miss that about him among other things..."
