In loving memory of

David Piccinini
April 4, 1941 - July 28, 2021

Dave passed away in Fresno, California from heart failure following an extended hospital stay. He was a life-long resident of Los Banos and a member of the first class to graduate from Our Lady of Fatima School. He graduated from Los Banos Union High School in 1959. Many of his long-time friends he made as a boy while playing first baseman on his baseball teams in Little League, Babe Ruth, Junior Legion and in High School. Besides his love of baseball, he was an avid sportsman, learning from his father at a young age how to hunt deer, elk, ducks, and dove, as well as how to cast a good fly in trout fishing. He loved the outdoors.
After high school, Peachy got his first job at an auto parts store, and subsequently took over Marchese's Shoes in downtown Los Banos from his uncle. Ultimately, he retired as a produce operations manager in 2005.
Foremost in his life was the love he had for his family which included his son, Joel Piccinini (Jennifer) of San Mateo, California, and his daughter Nina Hladik (Mike) of Arvada, Colorado. He always looked forward to visiting them and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his family, David was always ready to contribute to his community. He was a long-serving member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge, and rose to become a Noble Grand within the I.O.O.F. He spent many good times with his friends barbecuing chicken or tri-tip for various charitable groups throughout town and supporting a number of causes in the community. And nothing brought him more pleasure than spending a day at the duck club with his friends. They enjoyed many delicious meals together chatting and sharing good times. As everyone who frequented downtown Los Banos throughout the years, particularly Marchese's Shoes and later, L.B. Drug, knows, Peachy was a wonderful guy and a good friend. He made his friends laugh, and he will be greatly missed by many.
Besides his children, he is survived by his sister Kathleen Mills of Sacramento, his ex-wife and good friend, Gloria Allison of Los Banos, his grandchildren, Chase Hladik and Tony Hladik, of Arvada, as well as Elliana Piccinini and Zachary Piccinini of San Mateo. Peachy was preceded in death by his father, Peter Piccinini, and his mother, Josephine Piccinini, of Los Banos, California.
In celebration of his life, a rosary will be held at St Joseph Church on August 9, 2021, at 10:00am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am. Burial will be at the Los Banos Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
