October 12, 1955 - July 28, 2021

Irene Reyes who loved to be called "Momo "by her grandchildren departed her loving family on July 28th, 2021 into the arms of her heavenly Father.
Irene was born in Austin, Tx on October 12th, 1955 to Lupe & Gregorio C Esparza.
Irene was a loving mother to her 3 children. She single-handedly raised her children with Love and Devotion in Buda, Tx.
Irene worked for the Department of Public Safety for 35 years in various positions. Her last job at DPS was as a management assistant. Irene loved teaching bible classes for children, in which she devoted 25 years to serving as the head director for the children's ministry. One of those ministries was the Missionettes for Christ. The 1st year she took her missionettes to Kennedy, Tx and they won 1st place. Everyone was in AWE of their accomplishments. Irene loved doing arts and crafts (self-taught) which included wreaths, baskets for all occasions, décor for all types of special events. She made amazing gifts for friends and family, teachers, and bus drivers. You can always count on Irene to step up and take control of any décor needed. Irene was our prayer warrior. She never judged you and always gave you great advice when needed. She was selfless. She was an awesome mentor to many at work, church, and of course family and friends. She was kind and had a heart of gold. She always loved to babysit her great-nieces and nephews. You always saw Irene with a big smile. Especially when she came home from after shopping all day and finding great finds at goodwill. Her favorite store. She had a contagious laugh and was very family and church-oriented. Irene touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.
The loves of her life was her heavenly Father, her children, and her grandchildren. Every child always felt that special love from Irene.
Irene was survived by her three children Pete Reyes IV, Jeremiah L Reyes (wife) Victoria, and Alisha Renee Reyes. 8 grandchildren. As well as 3 sisters and 4 brothers. "My condolences to all the children and family. What a beloved woman of God she truly was. I did not know her personally, but what a legacy she leaves behind. To my friend Dolores and sister to Irene, my thoughts and prayers are with her children and family. I was able to live stream and I thought the service was very beautiful and heartfelt hearing such great and wonderful stories and things about the person Irene was. To know how much she loved God and lived for him makes me take a look at my own life living for God. Thank you Irene for your example. Rose Garza"

"My most heartfelt condolences to my cousin Irene's family, kids, and grandkids. I was very sad to hear the news. I ran into cousin Irene alot at HEB in Buda while grocery shopping and last saw her when she came to my house in April 2021 and even helped decorate the venue. She was helping me with centerpieces for my daughter's quinceañera. She always had a big smile on her face, always so happy and ready to help. I always looked forward to her beautiful posts on Facebook spreading the love of God. The light of Jesus shined through her always in every way. She will truly be missed. May the Lord be with you all during this difficult time and provide the needed strength. I know she is in heaven dancing for Jesus. "

"I am so sorry to hear about Irene's passing she was my cousin. Irene was seven years older than me I always had the utmost respect for her when ever I saw her. I knew she was a person of God and served the Lord with all her heart. She would always give me a big hug and call me by 'prima'. I will miss her dearly she always reminded me so much of my tia Emma they resembled each other being first cousins. I did not see her as often as I would have loved to when I did run into her I loved our conversation and she always reminded me to go to church. I promised her I would. My condolences to Irene's children and grandchildren, her siblings and extended Esparza family. Love you all your prima Lydia."

"Very sadden of the sudden loss of Sister Irene Reyes. She was my Missionette for Christ leader and I was her first graduate. She was always positive, encouraging, and was never bothered what people say about her. She cared for everyone like her own family. She never hesitated to give me and my mom a ride back from from church. I loved hearing her sing her country songs when the opportunity was given to sing a special song. Overall she was a great leader and example to follow by. She will always have a special place in my heart. Love you Sister Irene and THANK YOU for everything you did. ?? "
