In loving memory of

Mildred A Sporrer
September 14, 1929 - July 22, 2021

Mildred Ann, daughter of Charles and Anna (Reinart) Eich, was born September 14, 1929, in Halbur, Iowa. The youngest of twelve children, she grew up on a farm two miles southeast of Halbur where she attended school and church.

On May 5, 1949, at 10 AM, Mildred was united in marriage with Lawrence Anthony Sporrer at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Halbur by Reverend Kramer. Eight children were born to this couple. They made their home on a farm one mile east of Manning where they were full-time grain and livestock farmers, specializing in cattle.

Mildred was a most loving wife and mother who had three passions: her husband, her children and her religion which was of the utmost importance to her. She honored her husband by helping with the outside chores just a little bit when needed, sorting fat cattle. Mildred did an excellent job of keeping the farm records. She was a homemaker, excellent cook, immaculate housekeeper and raised a huge garden. She enjoyed preparing meals for the numerous teenagers who helped Lawrence with farm work. She had a great sense of humor, but was all business in the right time. She was a very strict, but fair, wife and mother. She worked extremely hard trying to bring her children up in the best way possible, teaching them to work hard, be honest, attend church and pray whenever possible. Mildred and Lawrence enjoyed traveling to cattle sales at O'Neill, North Platte and Valentine, Nebraska in the 1950s and 1960s. She was very proud when Lawrence completed the course at Reisch World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City in 1971. Mildred was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Manning her entire life.

When Lawrence passed away on August 10, 1993, Mildred stayed on the farm with the help of her sons Lynn and Loran. Rick and Randy Willenborg rented the farm ground (Mildred never worried with such awesome renters). Mom loved Manning. In September of 2015, Mildred entered the Manning Plaza (now Accura), where she passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the age of 91.

Mildred is survived by six children: Patricia Treinen (Richard) of Sioux City; Marilyn Tillman (Nolan) of Santa Fe, NM; Alice Sporrer of Sioux City; Larry Sporrer (Gema) of New York; Lynn Sporrer of Atlantic; Jennifer Sporrer of New Hope in Carroll; Grandchildren: Theresa Treinen, Julie Treinen and Ray Tucker, Sarah (Rick) Rocha (Treinen), Bethany (Daniel) Cheatham, Noel (Becky) Sporrer; Great-grandchildren: Kayla Treinen, Seth Hurlbert, Katlynn Tucker; Trent and Elizabeth Rocha; Tyson, Jace, and Elyse Cheatham; Cash, Kale, Talli and Lola Sporrer; one great-great-grandson Brenden Hurlbert; and a sister Kay Loughran of Breda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence Sporrer; a daughter Donna (Robert) Gaffney; a son Loran Sporrer; siblings: Lucy (Leo) Irlmeier, Helen (George) Eischeid, Evelyn (Adolph) Langel, Alvin (Marie) Eich, Ray (Thelma) Eich, Herbert Eich, Sally Schenkelberg, and Sister Ricarda Eich. **In lieu of flowers and plants, Millie suggested donations be made to New Hope Village in Carroll.**
