"I didn\'t have a long history of friendship with Laura and her family....you didn\'t need one to know that they were full of love and kindness. My heart goes out to the many that will miss her dearly. Love to you."

"Laura began graduate studies in Trumpet Performance at UNI in the fall of 1992. Besides being my student, she was a colleague in our faculty brass quintet (Northern Brass Quintet) and in the wcfsymphony (where she later played principal for awhile). We have stayed in touch over the years and I have admired her dedication to (and love for) her family, to music, and to her nursing profession. She was totally committed to whatever she did - never one to do things halfway! She had the most kind spirit and was a friend. She will be missed. "

"I am so sorry to hear this news. I worked with Laura when she was an EMT at the hospital in Cresco. Laura and I spent many night shifts together. She was an genuinely caring and compassionate person. She loved her family and her friends, it was quite evident in our conversations. I was so happy for her as she achieved her goals of becoming a RN, then a NP. Her patients were undoubtedly lucky to have her in their corner. The world has lost an amazing person. My sympathies to her family."
