Winifred L. "Winnie" Anderson, 93, of Marquette, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, July 11, 2021 at the Norlite Nursing Center.
Winnie was born on December 23, 1927 in Stambaugh, Michigan to the late Clarence and Martha (Morcombe) Johnson and had resided in Marquette since 1945.
Winnie was formerly employed as a teller at the former First National Bank and Trust Company and also at NMU as a cashier. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her two loving daughters, Carrie (Jim) Jeske of Southlake, TX and Susan (Grant) Larsen of Marquette; six grandchildren, Dana and Erik Larsen, Cheri (Caleb) Johnson, Katie (Ben) Johnson, Lisa (James) Woods and Stephanie (Karsten) Gaarder; six great grandchildren, Catherine, Connor , Brady and Lucas Johnson, Brooklyn Woods, Emery Gaarder; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Edward W. Anderson in 1989; a brother, Clarence Johnson and three sisters, Marilyn DeRocher, Carrie Lou Johnson and Harriett Olson.
At Winnie's request, a private family funeral service will take place at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Andrew Plocher of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, 914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 or to Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic St., Marquette, MI 49855 in Mrs. Anderson's memory.
