Dorothy M. Elliott
August 1, 1930 - July 8, 2021

Dorothy M. Elliott, 90, of Yates City, passed away at 6:25 a.m., on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Farmington Country Manor. She was born on August 1, 1930, in Trivoli Township, to Phillip and Grace (French) Knussman. She married Dale Elliott on November 18, 1950, in Yates City. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2014.
She is survived by three children, Doug (Mary) Elliott of New Hampshire, Brent (Susan) Elliott of Yates City, and Brian (Pam) Elliott of Williamsfield; one sister, Johanna (the late John) West; six grandchildren, Jarame (Tina), Nikki (Cody), Jessica (Jim), Tori (Mike), Evan, and Chris (Liz); ten great-grandchildren, Madi (Nick), Madyson (Rhett), Jayde (Nick), Kaden, Austin, Waylon, Cash, Addison, McKenzie, and Denver; and two great-great-grandchildren, Laken and Reese.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Phyllis Bridenstein and Arlene Hartman.
Dorothy worked at Ladd's in Yates City for many years, as well as drove a truck for her husband's and brother-in-law's business, Elliott Custom Service. She also cooked for the Senior Citizen Drop-in at the Methodist Church in Yates City. She loved reading and feeding birds. She also loved her lottery tickets, gambling at the boat, and her Vegas trips. Most of all, though, she loved spending time with her family. She was of the Methodist faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Yates City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m., following the service on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Elmwood Banquet Hall, 112 South Magnolia Street, Elmwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elba-Salem Fire Department, B.Y.E. Ambulance, or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
