Raymond Blanchard, 78 of Carson, IA, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson with Pastor Terry McClain officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Carson Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Raymond and his family.

Raymond Marion Blanchard, 78 of Carson, IA, passed away on July 5, 2021.
Ray was born on February 8, 1943 on the farm east of Griswold, IA, the son of Marion and Verona (Forsyth) Blanchard. He graduated in May 1961 from the Griswold high school. Ray joined the United States Navy in the fall of 1961 and served 4 years and 1 month. Following his service, he worked at Ross's Grocery store and then Walnut Grove. Ray worked at Griffin Pipe Products for 40 years until retirement.
In 1976, Ray met Evelyn and her children, Daniel and DeAnna. They were united in marriage on December 31, 1976 and made their home in Carson.
Ray and Ev taught Sunday School for 20 years at the Carson United Methodist Church. They later became members of the Wheeler Grove Church for 22 years.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Ronald Blanchard; and Evelyn's children, Daniel Reason and DeAnna LeKander
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Evelyn; son-in-law Brett LeKander; granddaughter Lily Ann LeKander; sisters, Ruth Maniscalco and Ruby West; and brother Ken Blanchard.
