Raymond Sepeda Jr.
July 8, 1948 - June 30, 2021

Raymond Sepeda Jr., 72 was born in Austin TX, and went home to our heavenly father on June 30, 2021.

Raymond graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Navy, Raymond joined the University of Texas Landscaping Services department where he eventually retired after 25 years of hard work. During his time within the department, he entered and won 1st place at the annual U.T. landscaping services brisket cookoff two years in a row.

At work and in life Raymond was easy to get along with and was always described as a hard worker. He would often share his award-winning BBQ, life knowledge, and skill set with his neighbors and friends. And he continuously gave back to his community by helping build houses with the organization "Habitat for Humanity" and was later acknowledged by the organization for his outstanding contributions. Because of his generous nature, dependability, and his innate "quiet" strength, Raymond was respected and cherished by his friends, family, co-workers, and his entire community.

Raymond loved being outdoors, fishing, and hunting all while listening to Country music and Tejano classics. He was a great Friend, Brother, Grandpa, and an amazing Dad. He truly loved his family and was proud to be a Sepeda. Although he may be gone, he will never be forgotten, and he is and always will be SEPEDA STRONG.

Raymond was survived by his children Corina, Irene, and Jeffery Sepeda; his grandchildren Steven Esparza and Crystal Esparza; his brothers and sisters Trina, Vera, Tony, Ray, Pete and Jimmy Sepeda all from Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Stella Sepeda Sr.; his brothers Jesse and Bobby Sepeda.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 18th, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The rosary will begin at 7:00pm at Harrell Funeral Home of Austin, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745. Service will be on Monday, July 19th, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. at Harrell Funeral Home of Austin, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. in San Antonio, Texas 78209.

Honoring Raymond and serving as pallbearers will be Jose Antonio Sepeda Jr., Jesse Sepeda, Ray Sepeda, Steven Esparza, Andrew J. Garcia, and Gabriel Rodriguez.
