"Whether Vern was speaking with a man or a woman, his quick wit and dry humor would captivate them! When he would tell a story about his past , you would not want to miss a single word , as each one would add the perfect meaning to enhance the story. He reminded me of my father whom I loved very much, as both were very good listeners. As my dad always said, God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth, so you should listen twice as much as you talk. Good common sense! Vern, we who were fortunate to be around you are so thankful you were our friend. Until we meet again, I love you, pal!"
