Elwood Arthur Russell IV (Rusty)
October 30, 2002 - June 20, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son Elwood Arthur Russell IV (Rusty) on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Rusty was born on October 30, 2002 in Harlingen, Texas.

Rusty is survived by his parents Elwood Arthur Russell III and Belia Russell and his twin sister Ava, grandparents, Elwood Arthur Russell Jr., Jose and Carmen Perez. He is preceded in death by his sister Elle Russell and grandmother Susan Russell.

Rusty is a 2021 graduate of Hyde Park High School.

He brought so much love and joy to our lives and to those around him. Rusty will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality that could make you laugh one minute and cry the next. Rusty was an avid music fan and loved to travel. He loved his 3 dogs and would laugh like a child whenever he interacted with them. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

We will forever hold him near and dear to our hearts until we meet again.

God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Mathew 5:4

"I met Rusty at a small homeschool academy called Jones Academy in 6th grade back in 2010. My friend Greyson and I both immediately got along with Rusty and knew him as a goofy, soft but bright spirited person. We got to know him better and spent nights at his house, he spent nights at our houses and we all had a great time as kids do. I left the academy in 8th grade and Grey soon left as well. We became distant from Rusty for no reason other than that we all shifted in our personalities. Not in a bad way, just in the way that some friendships don't last forever. I regret not reaching out to Rusty at least to check in with him periodically. The best memory I have of Rusty was a night that we all stayed at his house, and I just remember a pure, fun time with the three of us. Rest well my friend. You will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to your family and beloved friends."
