Robert J. Fullerton , 67, passed away June 7th, 2021. Bob was born in Saint-Nazaire, Loire Inferieure, France on November 30, 1953 to George and Sylvia Fullerton. He grew up in the Appalachian area of New Jersey. His family moved to Tucson when he was a teenager.
While working full-time as a manager of a Howard Johnson's hotel, Bob managed to attend college full-time at the University of Arizona. Bob remained on the Dean's list for most of his college years and earned his Bachelor's degree with honors from U of A. He wrote a thesis paper on "Analysis of Off-Balance Sheet Derivative Disclosures" to receive his honors certification.
Bob began his career working for the Arizona Attorney General's office and eventually moved on to Grass, Coffey & Scharlau, CPA's where he continued to work for 24 years. He was a Certified Public Accountant for over 23 years and served on the board of the Non-Profit Organizations for the Arizona Society of CPAs.
Bob enjoyed fishing, puzzles, carpentry, motorcycles, astronomy, mythology, war history, and sudoku puzzles. He loved German Shepherds especially his beloved dog Dixie. Bob designed and installed all the inside carpentry in his beautiful cabin in Pinetop where he and friends spent many days relaxing and fishing. An avid bowler, Bob enjoyed joining his team to compete against others in their league. He bowled in several national men's bowling events. He enjoyed a variety of cars during his life; a Porsche, a Jaguar, a Jeep, a Ram, a Dakota and he also owned a few motorcycles including a Harley Davidson chopper!!!! In honor of the Cardinals football team, Bob purchased most of his cars and trucks in red. But most of all, Bob loved being the Cardinals' #1 fan. A perpetual season ticket holder, Bob loved to meet with friends, tailgate before games, and then watch his favorite team play.
Bob was preceded in death by his younger sister Georgia Simmons and her husband Paul. He is survived by his nephew Daniel Simmons. Bob will be deeply missed by his friends and all that knew him.
