Norman Nelson Sr.
May 20, 1933 - June 12, 2021

Norman Nelson Sr. passed away peacefully on June 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Boston, MA to Edith (Petersen) and Arthur Nelson on May 20, 1933. He met his wife JoAnn at Polaroid Corp where they both worked in the research labs. They celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage in July 2020.

Norman attended Watertown, MA schools and upon graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After serving his Country and with a great sense of adventure, took a freighter on a six-month trip, destination Europe - seeing many counties along the way and ending up in Sweden visiting relatives and researching his ancestry.

He loved dancing and an earlier career taught ballroom dancing. Norman and JoAnn moved to Arizona in 2002 to be near family, the focus of their lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn; two sons, Norman Jr and his wife Michelle and Eric, both of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Wesley, Emily, Elizabeth, Dylan, Bella, and Lara; sister, Sylvia of Maynard, MA and many nieces and Nephews.

Those who knew him loved him and he will be greatly missed.
