PATRICIA A. THOMAS
July 14, 1934 - February 18, 2021

Patricia A. Thomas, 86, of Skandia, died Thursday evening, February 18, 2021 at her home, surrounded by family and under the care of U.P. Home Health & Hospice.

Pat was born on July 14, 1934 in Chocolay Township, a daughter of the late Emil and Amelia (Sicotte) Durand and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a 1951 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School. On November 5, 1955 she married Donald J. Thomas at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marquette and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage.

Pat retired from Ameritech in 1987 after 10 years of service with them. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a long-time member of St. Louis the King Catholic Church as well as its altar society where she helped serve many funeral lunches over the years.

Survivors include five children, Dr. Daniel (JoAnne) Thomas of East Jordan, MI, Robert Thomas of Oak Park, MI, Catherine (David) Ehred of Lapeer, MI, James Thomas and his partner, Doug Wagers of Las Vegas, NV and Steven Thomas of Bad Axe, MI; son-in-law, Steve Allen of Howell, MI; seven grandchildren, Sara, Jason, Joe, Melissa, Dalton, Emily and Tyler; seven great grandchildren, Lily, Farah, Eva, Delaney, Leilah, Porter and Tessa; one sister, Marie Bernier of Skandia; as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, Donald Thomas in 2006; a daughter, Joanne Allen in 2004 and a sister, Carol Maki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Harvey on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Theoret officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in West Branch Township Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Don.
