Daniel "Dan" Trenary
March 30, 1951 - June 10, 2021

A Funeral Mass for Dan will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wesley. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Daniel Dean Trenary was born March 30, 1951, in Algona, IA the son of Robert and Gladys (Goetz) Trenary. He grew up on a farm near Corwith and graduated from Corwith-Wesley in 1969. After graduating he began farming with his father.

On January 19, 1973, Dan was united in marriage to Gayle Wermers at the St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. Together they raised their family on a farm near Corwith.

Dan enjoyed fishing, farming, traveling, playing cards, and watching old television shows. He was a man of very few wants, and he also enjoyed putzing around.

Dan died on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 70.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle of Corwith; children, Nick (Hollie) Trenary of Cedar Rapids and their children, Ethan, and Tess Trenary; Beth (Christopher) Janssen of Sheffield and their children, Levi, Ki, Josi Janssen; and Patrick (Samara) Trenary of Mason City and their children, Roman and Boyd Trenary; mother, Gladys Elbert of Algona; siblings, Donna (Tim) Vipond of Algona, Debra (Dave) Hanselman of Lu Verne, David Trenary of Tucson, AZ, and Dean (Debra) Trenary of Corwith; and many nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, his infant brother, Robert; and his grandparents.
