In loving memory of

MARION JEANNE WRATE
January 11, 1937 - June 4, 2021

Marion Jeanne Wrate, 84, of Gwinn, died Friday evening, June 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by family and under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice.

She was born January 11, 1937, in Gwinn, a daughter of the late Aaron and Aunie (Hakala) Pelkie. She was a 1955 graduate of Gwinn High School and was a lifelong area resident.

Marion was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards, knitting, reading and working puzzles.

She is survived by five children, Marion (David) Paris of Gwinn, Edward Wrate of Marquette, Karen (Dean) Lohman of Montague, MI, Glenn (Joy) Wrate of Gwinn and Barbara (Jeff) Kinsey of Irving, TX; grandchildren, Adam (Tessa) Paris, Louie (Briana) Paris, Deanna (Joe) Fabris, Aaron (Kristin) Lohman, Stephanie (Jordan) Stumpf, Rebecca (Taylor) DeBord, Angelia (Allen) Barber and Olivia Kinsey, Jasmine (Clayton) Mattox, Joseph (Teresa) Mattox, Jaeden and Joleigh Martinez; great-grandchildren Landon, Callen, Blake, Carson, Athena, Preston, Luke, Mackenzie, Madelyn, Aiden, Riley, Olivia, Gabriel, Sophia, Bentley, and Zachary; a sister, Edna Roberts of Gwinn; special friend, Judy Courtright of Gwinn; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry and four brothers, Harlan, Bob, Kenny and Leroy.

A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Breanne Kinnunen officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until the time of the service in the church. Weather permitting, refreshments will be provided outside after the service.
