Rose Marie Tandy
March 16, 1941 - June 6, 2021

Rose Marie Tandy, age 80, of Quincy, died on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 3:20 am in Blessing Hospital.

Rose was born March 16, 1941 in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Kenneth G. and Irene McCabe Bruhweiler. She married Clelan "Cle" Tandy on March 31, 1973 in St. James Lutheran Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2015.

Rose attended grade school at the Willow Bend School in Marion County, Missouri. She graduated from Palmyra High School and Gem City Business College. During her school years, Rose worked at the Drive-In Theater in West Quincy, Missouri and also sold fireworks during the summer months. She was employed at Quincy Soybean for over 30 years, until her retirement in 1995.

Rose was a long time member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Quincy. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rose loved taking trips to Branson, Missouri. She was an exceptional gardener, and along with Cle, Rose loved spending time at their river camp with family and friends. Rose's dogs had a very special place in her heart.

Survivors include three daughters, Michelle (Erich) Jacobsen of Taylor, MO, Teryl "Teri" (Kevin) Broeker of Ewing, MO, and Laura "Lori" (Terry) Tilley of Bountiful, UT; 13 grandchildren, Elle Jacobsen, Ava Jacobsen, Liam Jacobsen, Isaac Jacobsen, Tandy (Troy) Fischer, Kendra (Joseph) Grimm, Joshua (Aleesha) Tilley, Aaron (Katherine) Tilley, Terry (Becky) Tilley, Jessica (Dan) Cooley, Benjamin (Mindy) Tilley, Jared (Marral) Tilley, Jordan (Amelia) Tilley; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Bruhweiler of Silver Springs, MD; a niece, Camillia (Dave Cohen) Bruhweiler; a nephew Fritz Bruhweiler; and three great-nieces, Anna Rose, Isabella and Amilia Cohen.

In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Alex Earel Jacobsen.

Services: 11:00 am Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Marlin Rempfer officiating.

Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
