In loving memory of

William "Bill" J. Hall
February 13, 1966 - May 7, 2021

William (Bill) Joseph Hall, 55, of Omaha, NE, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 7, 2021. Bill was born on February 13, 1966 in Beatrice, NE.
After graduating Wymore Southern High School in 1984, Bill obtained Associate's Degrees in Agriculture from Southeast Community College and in Computer Science from NE College of Business. He used his experience and expertise throughout his professional life, with roles as a network engineer at Nebraska Tractor, Northern Natural Gas, University of NE Medical Center and JC Robinson Seed. He also worked as a consultant for several local Omaha businesses, including Absolutely Fresh Seafood and Union Pacific.
An intelligent and serious man with an artist's soul, Bill was an avid reader who was especially fond of Louis L'Amour westerns, mysteries, and historical accounts of the Wild West and turn-of-the-century gangster biographies. His interest in history extended to many conversations with his nephew Mitch, where he spoke of his affinity for anything related to Wild Bill Hickok. Bill loved music of all kinds, especially rock-and-roll and the blues. He took particular pleasure in listening and dancing to live music, and attended concerts whenever he could. As a young boy, he loved the outdoors, camping with his parents at Lake Indian, and spending time boating and riding dirt bikes.
His work and many interests kept him occupied, but it was his family and friends who gave Bill the greatest joy. His role model and best friend was his father, who he made time to talk with two or three times a day throughout his life. He especially enjoyed reminiscing about his dad's days as a train engineer and the times he let Bill ride up front in the engine. Bill also loved being an uncle. A good day for him meant taking his nieces and nephews for a day on the water, where he spent hours pulling them on a tube and teaching them to drive his pontoon. He enjoyed talking with them and was always very encouraging. Bill was patient and kind, with a generous nature that extended to his friends, who always knew they could count on him to be there when they called.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Joanne Hall and his beloved dogs Bo and Floyd. He is survived by his sisters Patti Hall, Michele (Ken) Snare, and Harriet (Ray) Strehlow; nieces and nephews Rachel (Josh) Paprocki, Karmon (Steve) Cherne, Mitchell Snare, Grant Marr and Allison (Brent) Widener; great niece and nephew Wyatt and Emma Widener, and many friends and colleagues, all of whom miss him dearly and feel blessed that he was part of their lives.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on June 26th from 2-4 PM at the home of his sister Harriet at 7555 Drexel Street in Ralston, NE.

"I met Bill in college at SCC Milford in 1987, became friends and roommates. We shared the love of the outdoors and music, attended many concerts and I spent time with him, his father Harry who was a very kind man to me as well as his mother who feed me her incredible food many times and hosted me in their homes. I was lucky to enjoy Harry and Bill at lake for several years. He could be very kind and fun to spend time with. We spent hours playing music trivia over a board of backgammon on a regular basis. I\'m glad he is with his parents whom he did truly love and miss... Thank you!"
