Jeffrey Jenkins
June 17, 1955 - May 30, 2021

Jeffrey Leo Jenkins, 65, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away on Sunday May 30, 2021, at Trinity Regional Hospital after a short illness.

Jeff was born on June 17, 1955, to John and Joanne Jenkins in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Jeff graduated from St. Edmonds High School in 1973. After graduation he went to work for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, which later became a part of the Union Pacific Railroad System until his retirement in 2015. After retiring from the Union Pacific Railroad, Jeff dedicated his time to managing the Moose Lodge in Fort Dodge. Jeff was appointed Governor, went on to become Administrator of the Moose Lodge, President of the Corn Belt Moose Legion 152, and was Activity Director for Iowa Moose Association. Jeff was responsible for scheduling and managing multiple yearly fund-raising events (steak fry, where over 700 steaks are served, Corn Belt Moose Legion peanut brittle sales, Sunday morning breakfast and live entertainment events). Proceeds from these events supported multiple charity events, (Moose Heart and Moose Haven, yearly Easter egg hunt and Bikes for Tykes at Christmas Time).

Jeff is survived by his sister Janet Jenkins of Fort Dodge, brothers James Jenkins (Trish) of O'Fallon, Missouri, Jerry Jenkins (Joy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, niece Tricia Jacobson, nephews Matthew, Nicholas, Anthony Jenkins, 3 grandnieces and 3 grand nephews. Jeff was also very close to his deceased wife Kathy's son, Tyler and Kathy's granddaughter, Brylie.

Jeff was preceded in death by his wife Kathy, his soul mate Rachel Brown, mother Joanne, and his father John Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 2nd with the family present at 9:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Church.
Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the Moose Heart 424 1st Ave S. Fort Dodge, IA 50501.
