Norma Jean Begeman, age 91, of Quincy, died, Friday, May 21, 2021 at 8:05 p.m. in her home.

She was born January 14, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Pearl Thomas Nelson. On August 5, 1950, she married Harold Franklin Begeman in Quincy. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2003.

Norma was a 1947 graduate of Quincy High School. She was a member of Our Redeemer and Ladies Aid (LWML).

Survivors include: her son, John S. (Lois) Begeman of Quincy; her daughter, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Tomkinson of Clinton, IL; six grandchildren: Brad (Kelle) Begeman of Quincy; Kristen (Skip) Weikle of Quincy; Kelley Jo (Tony) Hummel of Quincy; Brian (Erica), Jason, and Sarah Tomkinson, all of Clinton, IL; 12 great grandchildren: Breanne and Brennan Begeman; Parker, Reis, and Nelson Kendrick; Bryer and Isabella Hummel; Sarah, Joe, and Stephen Weikle; and Ryan and Brooklyn Tomkinson; a great great granddaughter, Iliana Greenwood; a brother, Don Nelson of Perry, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Betty Altrogge and Thelma Murphy; and a brother, Leroy Nelson.

Graveside Services: 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Martin Eden officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum
