Shirley A. Musselman, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Pine Acres (Fountain West Health Center) in West Des Moines.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 22nd at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine (Larry) Lindeen of San Diego and Denise (Mike) Flattery of Des Moines; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cesil, parents, Michael and Hazel (Conlon) Derrig; brothers, Frank, Lawrence, Duane (Buck), Robert (Bob) and sister, Dolores (Dode).
Shirley was born on December 18, 1936 in Fort Dodge where she was raised and educated. She was united in marriage to Cesil O. Musselman, Jr. on July 18, 1955 and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Parish. Shirley had an infectious smile and was always there for her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed sharing family/life stories, playing cards, penny slot machines and was known for her baking, especially around the holidays.
