In loving memory of

Juan Antonio Maldonado Jr.
February 28, 1990 - May 13, 2021

Juan Antonio Maldonado, Jr., of Kyle, Texas passed away May 13, 2021 at the age of 31 following a valiant fifteen-year fight against Leukemia. He was born in Austin, Texas on February 28, 1990 to Juan Maldonado, Sr. and Josefina Guerrero Maldonado.

From the very beginning of his life, he was full of energy and always on the move. First playing T-Ball and soccer, then football and baseball at Lehman High School, along with martial arts and even power lifting. He was a man
in motion. Even after his diagnosis of Leukemia at age 16, through a bone marrow transplant and countless treatments, he was a strong fighter.

He had moved to the Kyle area in 6th grade and graduated from Lehman High School with the Class of 2008, so he was well-known and loved in the area. Along with his athleticism, he was a very smart individual, which led him to the field of surveying, utilizing his skills of engineering and mathematics. Juan loved children and he was so well loved; he was a Godparent to two of his friends' children.

He was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Pedro and Consuelo Guerrero, and Olivia and Eudelio G. Maldonado. Left behind to mourn his loss are his parents, Juan and Josie, his siblings, Alexander, Enrico, Jessica and Emilio; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family and/or memorial plants, through the Harrell Funeral Homes website.

"Juan was a fine young man, an excellent employee, and I enjoyed his company, his big hugs, and his respectfulness toward me and toward his profession of choice. He had a seriousness that went hand in hand with the depth of his struggle, but he also was marvelously light-hearted and had an easy laugh. I appreciate that I had the chance to get to know him a little better not only on a professional level, but as well, through our company vacations, parties, and more recently, on the phone. I will miss him very much, and his spirit will be a part of Landmark Surveying forever."
