In loving memory of

Judy McGurrin
October 24, 1949 - May 7, 2021

A warm light that made everyone feel like a best friend, Judy McGurrin unexpectedly passed away from a cardiac arrest on May 7, 2021 at the age of 71. While Judy's physical heart ultimately lost a difficult battle, the fullness of love that she had for her family and friends will be forever felt.

Judy was born in Atlanta, GA on October 24, 1949 to Reed Hopkins and Hazel King. She was the second oldest and only daughter of five children. Judy graduated from Grady High School and was elected Snow Queen while attending Brigham Young University - Idaho where she continued her study of the arts. On November 21, 1970 she was married to Gary McGurrin in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Having four children, Judy was a tremendously dedicated wife and mother. She had a contagious smile that lit every room she entered, a completely compassionate heart and was an example of unflinching spiritual strength. She cherished spending time with those she loved. A fountain of inspiration to all, Judy was passionate about serving in the church where she was a teacher and a leader prior to her health challenges. Judy made a lasting positive lasting impact on everyone that had the privilege to meet her.

Predeceased by her father, Reed, Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary, daughter Kaesi, sons Mason, Cory and Cameron, her 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held on May 15, 2021 at the Union Hill Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1750 Windward Concourse, Alpharetta, GA 30005). Visitation between 11:00am to 12:00pm followed by a 12:15pm service.
