Joan was born in Rochester, NY on March 20, 1941, to James & Mary (Jennings) Hutchinson. When Joan was 4 years old, she welcomed her lifelong friend and baby sister, Joyce.

Joan discovered her artistic abilities while she was a student at St. Agnes High School. She continued to explore and develop her talents throughout her life. She excelled in painting, ceramics and moved into cross stitch and needlepoint. She continued with her talents even while raising her 2 sons and working as a medical receptionist at Park Ridge Hospital. She loved to solve puzzles, was an avid reader, reading any Elvis book (she tried to read them all) and loved to get her hair and nails done.

Joan had 2 sons with Richard Beamish, Mark & Michael. The days that her boys were born were 2 of her favorite days in her life as was her 70th birthday party and the day she and Carmi were married as she would often mention.

After meeting and falling in love with Carmi, Joan was welcomed into the Couglar family with open arms. She became a grandmother to 5, Michael Kevin, Sarah, Danielle, Aidan & Lainey. She loved animals and was proud to call any animal her friend, over the years she cared for her 2 dogs, Tippy & Charo and even was a surrogate grandparent to Pinky, Maggie & Madison.

She enjoyed listening to disco music, the Buffalo Bills and just spending time talking. She was an open, honest, caring, generous and humorous woman. She was a mother, wife, grammy, daughter, sister & loyal friend who will be greatly and deeply missed by all.
