May 7, 2021. We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Ed, one month before his 92nd birthday. Predeceased by his parents, George V. and Frances (Cooper) Blind; brothers, Donald (Doris), Roland (Loraine), James (Shirley) Blind; nephews, Michael and Ronald Blind; maternal aunts, Ethel Noble, Edna Clifford, and Rosalind (Milton Schyve) Hickman.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 ½ years, Carolyn R. (Powers) Blind; sons and daughters, Robert (Patricia), Susan (Michael) Martin, Virginia Tress, Lawrence (Teresa Hurt) of Albuquerque, NM, and William G. Blind (Kara). 7 Grandchildren: Christopher (Lindsay) and Jeffrey (Cheyenne) Blind, Dr. Sarah (Major Andrew, US Army) Pingrey of Olympia, WA, Audrey (Andrew) Van Lare, Wesley, William R., and Alexandra Blind of Albuquerque, N.M. 6 Great Grandchildren, Prudence, Jancis, Rutherford, Primrose, Cecil and Mariette Pingrey; Brother, Gerald (Barbara deceased) and Sister, Patricia Marciano of Santa Fe, N.M. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Dr. Bethel Powers; special niece, Rachel Wilson (Miguel Delgado) and sons, Andrew and Ismael, niece, Patricia (Edward) Dries, nephews, Jim and Kevin Blind, Tom (Mary) Blind, John, Edward and Daniel Bielaski, cousin Dr. Paul Schyve.
Ed was a proud Korean War Vet, Army 169th Infantry, Germany. He graduated from Holy Redeemer School and attended John Marshall High School. He was the youngest manager at Harts (original) grocery store. He also worked at Fasco and Kodak. Ed enjoyed being chauffer for the elderly for many years and he was always ready for a road trip and adventure with his family. He was fortunate to travel to many states and to see many wonders of our country, especially in New Mexico. Ed was a NY Yankees fan and enjoyed all types of music, especially classical, country western, the bagpipes and Lawrence Welk.
Go now, Ed, the time has come. All worldly tasks are done. There are others waiting for you, and songs yet to be sung.
