Theresa J. Atkinson, 57, of Andrew, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, May 9, 2021, at her home.
At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. There will be no public visitation or services held at this time. A a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Theresa Joy Taylor was born on December 20, 1963 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Eugene Lee and Carole Sue (Shady) Taylor. She attended Maquoketa schools. She married Tony Atkinson in 2000 in Jackson County, Iowa.
Theresa had worked as a nurse's aide at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa for 8 years. She enjoyed writing short stories and was an amateur linguist. She loved music of all kinds and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Emily Taylor of Maquoketa, IA, Tyler Taylor of Maquoketa, IA, and Kyle Taylor of Davenport, IA; her father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Linda Taylor of MI; a brother, Scott Taylor of Preston, IA; sisters, Tammy (Michael) Shulz of Maquoketa, IA, Brenda Arrick of Maquoketa, IA, and Christina Edwards of Muscatine, IA; and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and her mother.
