Shirley Henderson Day, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. If there was ever a person who could be deemed a saint, it was Granny. She loved Jesus, her family and everyone she met. Granny enjoyed reading her Bible, playing the piano and singing, and eating at Captain D's. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Louis Day; her children, Louie Day, Keith Day and Jenny Day; a sister, Bonnie Collett; and her brother, Charles Henderson.

Granny is survived by her children, Kathy and Allen Hogan, Eddie Day, and Denise Hampton; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Granny's Life will be held Friday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Church at War Hill. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Granny's memory to The Church at War Hill, 8847 Highway 53 East; Dawsonville, GA 30534 (https://www.warhill.com) for their recovery ministries, WayPoint Ministries and Abba House Ministries.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia 30040 is in charge of arrangements.
