Oscar Garza, a humble, strong, generous and "a good man", who was devoted to his family passed away in Kyle, Texas on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at the age of 83.
Oscar was born on March 8th, 1938 to Guadalupe and Dora Garza in Raymondville, Texas. Oscar had a challenging childhood which provided him a tremendous inner strength and a desire to dedicate his life to his own family.
Oscar joined the US Air Force immediately after graduating from high school in Raymondville, TX. Oscar served a distinguished career of 28 years in the US Air Force, retiring in 1987 as a Senior Master Sergeant. His career led him throughout Asia and around the world. His experience gave him the skills to continue working for the government in the Department of Defense in Quality Assurance.
Oscar loved and dedicated his life to his family. He often worked two jobs without complaint to provide for his family. He gave his time and gifts generously to his family, friends, and anyone in need. Oscar was steadfast and dependable. He was a good man, a good father and worked hard to provide for his family. He had immense pride in his children. Oscar is preceded in death by his Parents Guadalupe and Dora Garza, Brother Guadalupe Garza, Jr. and Sister Yolanda Fuentes.
Oscar leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Lilianti Bachtiar, his children, Edie Nieto and her husband Guadalupe, Ana Garza, Oscar Garza, Mai Garza and her husband Tony Vu, Elvia Garza, Susana Garza and Dedy Garza and his wife Yeni, Sister's; Olga Garza, Elvia "Lisa" Senft, Brother's Ben Garza, and Joe Garza. Oscar's genuine smile and generous heart will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Oscar leaves behind a legacy of humble strength which will endure through the generations.
Please join Oscar's family in celebrating his life on Monday, May 31st, 2021 beginning with a time of visitation from 4 to 8 pm, at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, Texas. Graveside services with military honors will follow on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 at 2:15pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
