NANCY LOUISE BORG
October 21, 1942 - May 2, 2021

Nancy Louise Borg, 78, of Marquette, died peacefully Sunday morning, May 2, 2021 at her home with her loving family at her side and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.

Nancy was born on October 21, 1942 in Marquette, one of seven children born to the late George and Hilda (Tuuri) McMaster. She was a lifelong Marquette resident.

Nancy was formerly employed for over 25 years at Northern Michigan University. For many of those years she served as the housekeeper at the president's residence, Kaye House. When not working at NMU, Nancy loved spending numerous hours in her yard, gardening and caring for her vast array of flowers. She also held a particular fondness toward her pets and horses.

Survivors include three children, Pamela (David) Strahl of Ishpeming, Chris Mathews and Curt (Sue) Mathews, both of Marquette; six grandchildren, Nolan Mathews, Demi Mathews, Katelyn (Mark) Laretti, Stuart Pearson, Jim Pearson and Danielle Johnson. Also surviving is a brother, Jim McMaster of Carlshend, MI. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a son, Mark Mathews and five siblings, John McMaster, Helen Anderson, George McMaster, Alice Croschere, and Susan Fletcher.

Nancy's family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Social distancing and masks will be observed. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Skandia.
