Catherine Hill age 97 of Evansville passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Bethel Manor.
Catherine was born on August 15, 1923 in Daviess County to Anna (O'Connor) and John J. Oberst. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1941 and retired from Peoples National Bank (now known as German American). Catherine loved to travel and spend time with her sisters.
Catherine is survived by two sons Joseph A. "Tony" (Diane) Hill of Evansville and Jeffrey Alan Hill of Washington; daughter Denise Elaine (Don) Metrione of Fort Meyers, FL; one sister Teresa Keller of Bloomington; three grandchildren Brian (Chantel) Hill, Alex Hill and Andrew (Hannah) Metrione and one great-granddaughter Hazel Grace Metrione.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Hill who she married June 7, 1947 and lost August 18, 1996; her parents; brother Julian Michael Oberst and two sisters Sister Mary Celeste (Dorothy Oberst) and Mary M. Pride.
A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter Cemetery with Yvonne Evans officiating with Alex Hill, George Keller, Ray Keller, Ben Keller, Joe Keller and Terry Buhr were the pallbearers.
