Onalie M. Nye , age 70, of 633 Kirkwood Boulevard, Davenport, died Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 3:13 pm in Blessing Hospital.
Onalie was born August 14, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Alford and Leona Bange Wilkerson.
She grew up in Argyle, Iowa and graduated from Argyle High School. She was employed as a housekeeper at the YMCA in Davenport as well as several hotels.
In her spare time, Onalie loved to go for ice cream and she working on puzzle books. She also loved taking naps with her cat, Exccurs.
My mom Ona liked to watch the Voice TV show, and we would watch it together along with American Idol, the news and the Jimmy Fallon show every chance we got. We would sit outside on the porch rocking in the chairs together drinking coffee and just talking. I loved my "me" time with my mom. When we would ride in the car and listen to old country music, I loved just looking at her singing away with a smile on her face. I loved taking walks with my mom. She was a walker everywhere she went.
There will not be a minute, day or night that goes by that I won't be thinking about how good of a mom she was. Last year we did an art project together which was our wishing well at 633 Kirkwood Boulevard in Davenport, Iowa. Now my mom Ona Nye is my Angel looking down on me!
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Ramirez of Davenport, IA and Evelyn Ramirez of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren, Jessica Collins and Bella Ramirez; and three brothers, Rocky, Will and Dusty Wilkerson.
Onalie was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Collins, her husband, Bill Nye, her parents, a sister, Chris Wilkerson, and a brother, Lucky Wilkerson.
