Valmont Disseler
October 6, 1930 - May 2, 2021

Valmont "Bunny" Disseler, age 90, of Quincy, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 1:00 am in St. Vincent's Home in Quincy.

She was born October 6, 1930 in Miami, Florida the daughter of Leslie Frank and Irene Grace Feaster Gardler. On February 23, 1957, she married Wayne Arthur "Ozzie" Disseler in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2006.

Valmont was a graduate of Miami High School in Miami, Florida and was a graduate of Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation she worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital for two years. In Quincy, she was a registered nurse at St. Mary Hospital from November 1956 until September, 1993. She also served as a nurse for the Immunization Clinic at the Adams County Health Department for five years. Valmont was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the American Nurses Association..

Survivors include three children, Steve (Karen) Disseler and Michael (Diane) Disseler, both of Quincy, and Lessily Carter of Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, Brandon Carter of Tennessee, Sarah (Adam) Stoltz of Moscow, ID, Eric (Katie) Disseler of Kansas City, MO, Lydia (Kyle) Schaake of San Diego, CA, Nathan Disseler of Austin, TX, and Aubrey and Jenna Disseler, both of Quincy; four great-grandchildren, John, Addison, Thea and Vivienne; a brother in law, Ted Disseler; three sisters-in-law, Sharon (Ken) Herron, Sandy (Jim) Banning, and Cindy Disseler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Valmont was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Ted and Leslie, and three sisters, Lilly, Nancy and Jeannette, and two sisters-in-law, Edith Disseler and Charlotte Barry, and a brother-in-law, Tom Barry.

Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Please wear a face mask if you plan to attend the visitation.

Services: 9:15 am prayers on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Please wear a face mask if you plan to attend the service.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
