Gilbert Valenzuela Pineda
April 8, 1928 - April 1, 2021

Gilbert passed away on April 1st, 2021, in Whittier, California at the age of 93. He is survived by his sister Josephine Contreras, his eight children; Rebecca Rodriguez, George Pineda, Gilbert Pineda Jr., Victor Pineda, Rudy Pineda, Robert Pineda, David Pineda, and Barbara Pena, as well as 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was born to George R. Pineda and Josephine Valenzuela on April 8, 1928 in Tucson, Arizona, where he lived the first 18 years of his life. Gilbert served his country in the United States Navy. Upon returning home, he married Maria de Jesus Franco on March 30, 1950. They moved to Los Angeles, California, where they began their life. Together, they welcomed 8 children.
Gilbert supported his family by working in a tire factory for many years. Once retired, he worked in the upholstery business. Gilbert truly enjoyed this trade.
Gilbert loved to dance and have a good time. He served as a church usher every Sunday for many years.
His interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery on April 30th, 2021 at 11 a.m.
