In loving memory of

Calvin Edward Hill
November 8, 1954 - April 22, 2021

Calvin was born on November 8, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY to Hazel Taylor and Leroy Hill. He attended Harlem Preparatory in New York, NY.
Not only was Calvin a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he served our country in the United States Navy for thirty years. Calvin started his career in the Navy on August 28, 1973; he attended boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. From there he went to Mayport, Florida and served on the USS Charles F. Adam DDG2, as a chef. While stationed there, Calvin met the love of his life Linda Hollie, and after dating for two years they were married in 1978.

Throughout Calvin's career, he received several distinguished honors, awards, and recognition for outstanding service and dedication to the Navy. He spent the remaining twenty-three years serving at eight different commands in San Diego until he retired honorably in 2003 as a Master Chief Petty Officer. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family. On any given day you would see him out in his yard watering his grass or fixing something around the house. Calvin always strived to do good and demonstrated that by sharing God's love so generously with his neighbors, family, and others he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed but remembered for eternity.
